Community Mental Health
Supporting our diverse communities through mental health and social transformation
The Community Mental Health (CMH) Master's of Arts Program trains students to become licensed therapists and leaders in empowering disenfranchised communities. Our graduates are a driving force in meeting the needs of and creating change for populations who have been underserved and overlooked by traditional counseling services.

In the second year of study, our students develop essential clinical skills and multicultural awareness in practicums at local training sites, including CIIS’ Clinic Without Walls (TCWOW)中国熟妇牲交_男女性高爱潮视频_亚洲色爽视频在线观看. This unique clinic allows students to treat clients outside of traditional clinical settings, allowing for increased capacity and accessibility.
CMH provides students with a strong theoretical background with an emphasis on practical application:
Statement of Diversity:
Diversity and the recognition of multiple perspectives is a core value of the Community Mental Health Program at CIIS. We celebrate and embrace these diverse perspectives as a source of strength, creativity, and relevance in our field. Our differences and how we each live those differences - be they of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, socioeconomic status, abilities, experiences and more - enhance our ability to achieve the Institute's core mission to embody spirit, intellect, and wisdom in service to individuals, communities, and the Earth. We do this by framing our studies in the context of social justice, liberation psychologies and including, respecting, and valuing the voices of the communities we serve in our students, staff, faculty and where we provide service.
